      What is Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling?

Vivace® RF Microneedling is a minimally-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles to create microchannels in the skin and delivers heat deep into those channels using radiofrequency. The controlled damage from the needles and heat triggers the body’s natural healing response and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. The result is tighter, smoother, more even-toned skin. For a greater rejuvenating effect, it can be used on both the face and neck. Radiance Rx is a premier microneedling services provider, located conveniently near Raleigh-Durham North Carolina at 2046 Creekside Landing Dr, Apex, NC

      What it treats

RF Microneedling is used to renew skin by:

      • Reducing wrinkles and fine lines
      • Tightening skin
      • Minimizing pore size
      • Improving overall skin tone and texture

While traditional microneedling addresses these same concerns, the RF energy from the Vivace System provides a different means to stimulate collagen growth. Together, these complementary techniques impact multiple skin layers and offer patients superior results versus microneedling alone.

      Why we love it

Vivace RF Microneedling is extremely versatile. The combination of radiofrequency and microneedling make this treatment effective for a range of skin concerns, and the procedure can be used to treat most skin tones and types, including tanned or dark skin.

And the whole experience is relatively easy. A numbing cream is used to keep patients comfortable during the procedure, and downtime after treatment is minimal with most patients resuming daily activities almost immediately. Healing starts right away, so improvement to skin quality will be noticeable within a few days. Wrinkles and fine lines in the targeted area will begin to fade in the weeks following treatment as collagen continues to build. Microneedling services and treatments help you looking your best for the beautiful North Carolina summers, and even winters.  Contact Radiance Rx today to schedule microneedling today.

      What to Expect

To prepare you for your RF Microneedling treatment, a numbing cream is applied 30 - 45 minutes in advance. During the course of your procedure, your provider will use the device tip to penetrate your skin with very fine needles and deliver energy into the resulting microchannels. Most patients report feeling light pressure with an occasional warming sensation or minor prickling. The treatment concludes with a specialized serum and take-home mask designed to soothe the skin.

After treatment, you may experience a warm feeling similar to a mild sunburn, along with minor redness or swelling, but that fades over the course of a few hours for most. You’ll see brighter skin within a few days, more noticeable results around 3 weeks after treatment, and the full benefits after about 3 months. Results improve over time with multiple sessions.

      FAQs

      • Does RF Microneedling hurt?

We use a topical analgesic to numb the treatment area and ensure comfort. You may feel pressure with an occasional warming sensation or minor prickling during the procedure, but most patients do not report experiencing pain. Minor discomfort may occur within the first few days after treatment.

      • When will I see results?

The results of Vivace RF Microneedling are immediate and also improve over time, giving you the best of both worlds.

You’ll notice brighter skin and an overall improvement to skin quality within a few days. At around 3 weeks, wrinkles and fine lines in the targeted area will begin to fade as collagen continues to build. Full benefits will be seen about 3 months post-treatment and results will improve over time if receiving multiple sessions.

      • What's the downtime for RF Microneedling treatments?

Most patients tolerate the treatment well and can go out on the town within a day or two with no indication they have had a cosmetic procedure. Typically, patients experience some redness and minor swelling right after treatment and find that it subsides within a matter of hours.

Potential reactions include dryness, redness, swelling, scaling, itching, a mild acne breakout or cold sore flare-up. These side effects are not cause for concern and should resolve within a few days.

      • How often should I get this service?

Most patients achieve their best results with 3 treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart.  Once your initial round of treatment is complete, we suggest repeating the service once a year to maintain results. In select cases, additional treatments may be needed to achieve the desired outcome.

      • Can I wear makeup after my treatment?

Patients should avoid applying makeup and SPF for 24 hours post treatment.

      • What should I do to prepare for my treatment?

Avoid self-tanner, peels, retinol, glycolic and acid products 5-7 days prior to your RF Microneedling treatment. Also, schedule your RF Microneedling procedure at least 2 weeks from any neurotoxin treatment and 4-6 weeks post dermal filler.

Alert your provider if you have a history of cold sores; prescription medication may be necessary to help avoid an outbreak.

You should not receive this procedure if you have a pacemaker/defibrillator implant, suffer from an autoimmune condition, are pregnant, are trying to get pregnant or are breastfeeding.

While downtime is very minimal for most, we do not recommend receiving this treatment within 2 weeks of an event since you may experience some redness and flaking.

      • What should I do and expect post-treatment?

After treatment, patients should avoid vigorous exercise for three days and direct sunlight for a week. Patients should not use acid products, retinol, harsh scrubs, and exfoliants for 5-10 days after treatment and should refrain from applying makeup for a day or two.

While there are a few restrictions, you should be ready to resume daily activities within a day or two. You may experience minor redness or swelling in the treatment area but this should fade quickly. Many patients report feeling warm in the treated area and compare the sensation to a mild sunburn. Additionally, slight discomfort may occur within the first few days after treatment.

Although not typical, minor reactions may occur. For that reason, we do not recommend receiving this treatment within 2 weeks of an event.

      • Can I get RF Microneedling treatments while pregnant?

You should not receive this procedure if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding.
